Throughout the history of jazz, the trumpet has played a leading role in this unique, expressive, and creative music. This lecture-recital will examine a number of seminal jazz trumpet artists and will include musical transcriptions performed by Dean McNeill-trumpet, Mark DeJong-woodwinds, Jon McCaslin-drums, Soren Nissen-bass, Erika Rybinski-trombone, and Graham Pritchard-guitar/banjo.
