Ziggy Marley, born in Trenchtown, Jamaica, is the eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley. Ziggy’s musical career began by playing with his father and siblings Sharon, Cedella and Stephen on “Children Playing in the Streets” in 1979. Soon after Ziggy, and his siblings became know as Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and released their debut album, “Play the Game Right” in 1985. They also released “Hey World” in 1986, and then “The Time Has Come: The Best of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers” in 1988. Shortly thereafter, the band moved to Virgin Records and recorded “Conscious Party”, which included the hit songs Tomorrow People and Tumblin’ Down. It was this album that earned Ziggy his first Grammy award. He has gone to achieve international success as a thriving artist and carrying on the Marley name for a new generation.
