The 2013 Prairie Brass Band Festival gets started this weekend and will be held at the Third Avenue United Church on April 19 and 20. This is one concert series that is guaranteed to blow. I mean that in the best possible way.
Viennese brass band Mnozil Brass will open up the festival with a concert at the united church on Friday evening at 7:30. Afterwards there will be a “close aftershow” and open jazz jam. Hey, these are awesome.
Saturday is jam packed with jazzy activities including a pair of clinics and rehearsals with professional horn players. There’s also a masterclass in the afternoon, followed by a banquet.
The Gala Concert on Saturday night at 7:30 will feature five separate brass bands from across the prairies.
You can check out the full list of bands and the rest of the schedule below, or on the Saskatoon Brass Band’s website.
