Local ska, jazz, funk masters Misterfire is just one fine example of local talent hitting the stage at this summer’s Jazz Festival.
The Jazz Festival gives local musicians of all shapes and sizes all kinds of opportunities to get on stage and strut their stuff.
Here’s a list of local acts you should check out, playing all around town from the Bess Gardens to the Experience Downtown Free Stage.
My criteria for making this list of local artists:
- Your band is originally from Saskatoon or currently based here
- A band member (but not necessarily the whole band) hails from Saskatoon or currently lives here
This list is mainly comprised of jazz/funk/blues acts. There are also a handful of rockier local bands that aren’t listed below, and a handful of DJs as well.
