Ask them to define their style and local band Misterfire probably won’t give you a straight answer. The five Saskatoon-based musicians can trace their roots back in all different directions and don’t hold still for long as far as genre is concerned. Ska, rock, reggae, funk, latin, jazz — all’s fair in Misterfire.
The Pickup recently caught up with Ben Jaffe, the creative director for the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The band is playing a sold out show at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon on June 22nd during the Jazz Festival.
